Title:               Conflict Resolution

Date:              Wednesday 23rd October

Time:              1pm till 330pm

Venue:           CHoC Solutions, 2nd Floor, Capital Buildings, Hilltop Heights, Carlisle

Aim:           To enable staff to recognise circumstances where conflict may occur and equip them with de-escalation techniques and also breakaway techniques should physical contact occur.

Delivered by a skilled trainer with experience of conflict resolution in the Ambulance Service

Course Content:

  • Common causes of conflict.
  • Discuss experiences of conflict situations and explore strategies to reduce the opportunity for conflict in the future.
  • Forms of communication during conflict.
  • Cultural differences in relation to communication.
  • Communication break down and the importance of creating conditions for communication to succeed.
  • Creating a positive cycle of communication.
  • Behavioural pattern of individuals during escalation
  • Warning and danger signals
  • Methods and actions appropriate for conflict situations

Title:               Fire Awareness/Refresher and Fire Warden Training

Date:              Wednesday 23 October 2019

Time:          10am – 1pm

Cost:        £35 + VAT Fire Awareness and £40+ VAT Fire Warden

Delegates can be booked onto either the first 2 Hours for Fire Awareness, or the full 3 hours for Fire Warden. Please state on the booking form if you require Awareness or Warden training.

The actions of staff if there is a fire are likely to be crucial to their safety and that of others in your premises. To comply with the Fire Safety Order all staff should receive basic fire safety training and attend refresher training sessions at pre-determined intervals.

Delivered by a certified member of the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, a Qualified A1 assessor and a graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers.

Fire Awareness/Refresher Training – (2 hours)

Aim: The aim of the course is to improve the fire safety knowledge of staff and to familiarise students with the basic requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Fire Warden Training – (3 hours)

Aim: The aim of the course is to improve the fire safety knowledge of anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace and to familiarise students with the basic requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Title:               Basic Life Support Incorporating both adult and paediatric protocols

Date:              Tuesday 12th October 2019

Time:          1230pm – 430pm

Venue:        Meeting Room (Grange Room 2), Nutwood Medical Practice, Kents Bank Road, Grange-over-Sands, LA11 7DJ

Cost:           £40 + VAT

Aim:             Empower delegates with knowledge and skills to be able to rapidly respond to emergency situations involving both adults and children in line with current Resuscitation Council Guidelines.

Delivered by an experienced Paramedic and First Aid Trainer who is registered with the Health Care Professions Council and a member of the Resuscitation Council UK.

 

Course Content:

  • Assessing a casualty using the Primary Survey.
  • Unresponsive but breathing casualty-recovery position.
  • Unresponsive and not breathing casualty-CPR using current Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines.
  • Paediatric anatomy and physiology in relation to BLS.
  • AED- Rationale for using the AED, safe use, post AED use procedures.
  • Choking protocol.

The course will include lots of hands on learning using Brayden CPR manikins which help visualise the effects of CPR and Prestan CPR manikins with rate and depth compression monitors.

Each delegate with receive a certificate which will be valid for 1 year.
